Film-maker Ellen Brodsky has made a documentary about a Boston-based LGBTQ youth theatre group entitled 'The Year We Thought About Love'. The documentary follows 16 LGBTQ inner-city youths from True Color: OUT Theatre Group, and documents their work writing plays from a personal narrative. The documentary cleverly reveals their lives, passions, struggles and acceptance though the medium of theatre.

People never really get the chance to talk to youth about their experiences as identifying as someone who doesn't conform to the social norm, instead they make assumptions and generalizations. This film is important because it will start a much needed dialogue with families, communities, especially communities of color. Says Brodsky.

Check out the short snippet below. The documentary is currently receiving rave reviews and is worth keeping an eye on!
