Tainted Juliet - Poetry Group

Recommended Posts

The taste of poison on my lips reminds me of our last kiss,
the wet taste of salt caressing my cheeks,
though I no longer cry I am still haunted,
knowing I killed us before we had a chance to live,
but you were my Romeo and I your tainted Juliet,
I tore down your walls and ripped you to shreds,
yet I never intended to hurt you like I did,
and can never feel your heart beat with mine again,
the ghost of you leaves me forever wanting,
to show you that my love really existed,
but I dare not intrude where the dead should not speak,
because now you know a life so completely separate from me.
