I have seen Audra McDonald on television on such shows as “Private Practice”, “Law & Order”, the television versions of “Annie”, “Sound of Music Live”, “Wit”, and at Lincoln Center and various concerts on PBS. Each time I saw her I would wish that I could some day see her in person. And that will be happening tomorrow evening at The Parker Playhouse here in Fort Lauderdale.

For those who may not know Audra McDonald made Tony Award history last year when she won her 6th Tony award and is the only actress/actor to have won in all 4 acting categories.

Introducing, talking and accompanying her when she sings will be Seth Rudetsky. Last season he introduced a series which he has done in clubs, on radio, on YouTube and on cruises, here during season with Megan Mullally, Megan Hilty and Patti LuPone. It is an evening of getting to know the performers with Seth asking personal and Broadway questions so you get to know the performer and, yes, Seth. He is an actor, writer, musician, a show tune savant and a top SiriusXM Satellite Radio performer. He is also known for his insightful ‘deconstruction’ of Broadway songs.

It has been a long time since I was this excited about seeing a performer in person because it is a completely different world from seeing them on television.
