Kiss Of Fire

O LOVE! What shall I ask of thee?
The purest of joy begat by hope?
Being both heartbroken, this we share!
Thou art my Maiden or lover be mine?

I dreamed of strange lips last night,
And soft cheeks wherein the blush did shine.
Was like a roses' lips did lay,
Within the opening bud did blossom.

What dreams have we begotten here?
Concealed within, O mysterious flower?
With leaves as pure as hidden doves,
From bud to lover's passionate kiss.

I dare not let this kiss disappear, lest my lips,
Press harder than unbidden breath.
O feel the desire of wild delight?
O hear the echo of our beating heart?

Our eyes meet one another in love,
Feeding each other day and night.
O feel the pressing of our mouth,
Like lips of burning fire did light.

Hi Jack, thanks for reading my poem. This is only one of thousands I haven't published yet. My first book had lots of poems, short stories, etc..in it. Laura xox
