I sit here pen in hand
And somehow know
There's no way you'll understand
The pictures in my mind
And the way my eyes
bleed 'til I'm blind

I wanted to be that memory
You'd never forget
I got it wrong, now I see
Got cut right down to size
And the ways of time
grind us down and pulverize

Was it you
Was it me
Could've been just anyone
Proof doesn't have to exist
When a love is gone, it's gone
A smart move is don't persist

So, I still find my hand
Wanting to tell it all
But there's no way you'll understand
The pictures in my mind
And the way my eyes
bleed 'til I'm blind

I'm Gonna Show You How Great I Am

Shadows seem to surround us
But it's really the light we're more afraid of
Strangers come and I let them know me
But you are still held at arm's length
I've got the reach, I know I do
I'll close the space to just hold you

I'm gonna show you how great I am
A force too fierce to be denied
I'm gonna show you how great I am
Because I know I once moved thunder
And held the lightening in place
just to make your eyes shine

It's not my fear of failure before you
It's my fear of the wonder of just
letting go and letting you in
These pathetic terrors are nothing
but walls I'm gonna climb
'Cuz I'm gonna show you how great I am

I'm gonna show you how great I am
Because I know I once moved thunder
And held the lightening in place
just to make your eyes shine

On your first one "Bleed Til I'm blind" is something we all have gone through.
I like it. Sometimes there are no words to express what you go through and trying to find those words makes a person even feel worse sometimes.
I have found expression after the fact and when something triggers that moment in the past then I write.
The other one - "Gonna Show You How Great I am" to me is saying of course you want to prove yourself even though you have been rejected or the relationship is over but your not done with it yet. Another feeling we all have felt sometime or another. Now that I am older I take rejection better and tell myself there is a reason it is not meant to be but experiencing and knowing that person has changed your insight of life and destiny in a way. We must look to our own inner strengths of any type of loss whether it be a job, a loved one, or a home and see it as a stepping stone to what our future holds.
For example: I lost my job many moons ago, found one and lost that one as it was not a permanent one, anyway, but each time I go through a sudden change I have not experienced it devasts me but the second time around I am wiser and now know what I must do, and learned something new and found another strength I had hidden inside myself. When you go through loss of any type it changes your prespective and I have learned to look to the future and figure out what I must do to carry on and survive. Just remember it is out of our own selfish needs we do not let go of materials and those who have passed on or have ended a relationships. The sooner we accept what is inevitable the sooner we can move on to better things and find a renew spirit.

Just wrote this and how your poem influenced me.

New Found Ground”

Catch,
Flattering glimpses,
Of lightning,
Then rumbling,
Shaking the ground.

You reminisce,
Of what was,
Not wanting
To leave your thoughts,
As they vanish,
Into the windy,
Bliss!

You spin
Around,
Looking for answers,
To
A troubled mind,
Finding,
Nothing,
But
Merry go
Around
And Time.

Moving,
Slowly,
Sowing new seed,
As change,
Takes heed
And new life
Starts to grow,
Answers,
Never found,
But new ground
Reaches,
Renewal
And the merry
Go round,
Slows down.
