Ode To the Condom

Oh great synthetic skin
that glides around and across the towers of all,
you know the warmth
the intimate nature of those
at lengths to which we shall never safely reach.
Snake's skin, hood from calf or goat,
housing life that could be life
but shall never be living
in the complex nature of that which makes us live.
You house possibilities;
of diseases developing toes and fingers
that could squeeze the hearts of man to pulp.
You are a great and impenetrable home
to soldiers that would flex
and leap to bounds of life;
to fight through fluids like tiny fish.
Great feigner of intimacy,
latex warrior, protector of and for mankind,
unnoticed and unused,
I write you here.

Dear Rick

Very impressive syntax that shadows such intimate expression.
