A weary heart

A weary heart
Heavy laden with the weight of life
Stumbling down life’s path
My feet are bare and bleeding
My arms are out stretched
Hands held high in a plea
A plea for sanity

Strains of life’s wicked beatings
Leaves my soul bloody and sore
I cry out in desperation
Free me from this burden I carry
Struggling against the weight of it all
No I fear not deaths call

Seeking that divine peace
That only God can release

O weary heart
I still hear your solemn beat
Although I cried out
I know where I am going
So I fear not
It’s just that I am so weary
