If I Were A Butterfly - Poetry Group

If I were a butterfly,
Where to would I glide?
To a meadow laced with gold,
Or beneath a leaf to hide?
If I were a butterfly,
Would I feel more free,
And if this question became fact,
Would I still be me?
As a pretty little butterfly,
Who soars from stem to stem,
Could I be a winged thing,
When I don't fly as them?
Fickle, maybe, this thought is,
But I will not sit and lie,
I think life would be more beautiful,
If I were a butterfly.
