If Only, If Only, But Maybe, Although - Poetry Group

If only, if only some facts were not true,
Then you might be with me, and I just might be with you.
If only, if only, but maybe, although?
If this came to be and if this were not so,
Although I am blind, maybe, I see,
If only I were, and not, then we'd be,
If only, if only they have all said to me.

If only, if only I never heard lies,
Maybe someday the clouds will show skies,
Although and If only, but maybe a clue?
Yet, this is not so, although this is true,
If only, if only, I would open this door,
Although it is locked, so maybe, no more,
If only, if only there were love without war.

If only, if only, but maybe, although?
If only I had the right words to show,
Yet, maybe, yes, no, and here is the thing,
If only, if only is the response that I bring,
Perhaps and maybe, I can, if only,
Although, somehow, if only and lonely,
If only, if only I were not so homely.

If only, if only, but maybe, although,
If only there was more that I can say that I know,
For certain, for sure, a definite yes,
Although, I am certain of maybe, a guess,
If only, if only they have all said to me,
Although I'm unfettered, I feel less than free,
If only, if only, that is all that I see.

If only, if only, but maybe, although,
Say what is thought if not then just go,
Maybe, I gave less than what I thought was enough,
Although I gave more than I had of the stuff,
Maybe I'm tired of these words that I see,
I am longing inside for what could but won't be,
So say what you will or forget about me.
