I wrote this a while back. I forgot about it until a friend of mine was able to quote it word for word. What greater compliment can one have? How brief is love?

May Blossom

I walked with him among the May blossom
And he said, "I love you."
And his words became the scent
Filling my head with drunken desire.

I stroll among the May blossom -
All I have left now
Is the scent of the flowers;
For his love reached its autumn that summer
and the fragrant petals fell long ago

Very lovely and profound ! I know the scenes and scents of that same garden all too well.

I really love how it doesn't use common imagery, and sensory, like roses, and hearts, etc........you know all the rest by heart probably. I especially loved "drunken desire" It's kind of sad though....

It is sad, but still very beautiful, I loved this David.

Even though autumn took the scent of the blossoms, no one season is forever.

"...no one season is forever;" I'll have to remember that one, myself-- thanks, Ashley. Right, now, I am still in winter........... : )
