One day in the garden, the flowers knew strife,

And argued for supremacy of the fragrance of each;

Contenders in debate were five;

Flow'rs wild and train'd their virtues did preach;

Roses decreed the pedigree of their scent;

Field flowers boasted fragrance exotic and fine;

Gardenia, Jasmine lorded o'er all their sweetness;

Orange did battle these two, its bloss'ms full confident;

Then he the garden did enter-- ending debate for all time;

This Bloom so sweet showed these delight in its fullness.

Thanks, Tommy-- I really appreciate your very kind response to my poem. Yeah, I did love that guy! He was as beautiful on the inside as he was on the outside--- and he was so lethally handsome, I never stood a chance....... : )) Our partnership did not last, but, the way I look at it, I was lucky to have known him at all.
