Valentines day, YAY OR NAY?

It was funny because I love Valentines Day but recently become single and my friends seem to be very wary of this, my friends started apologising for going into card shops because I was surrounded by love hearts and cuddly toys. Like I'm going to hate it just because I'm single? I love it! Keep the love alive.

Hey, I don't see why there need's to be one solitary day a year that we get to tell our other half's how we feel, I mean, I have NEVER been in a relationship on valentines, I'm usually the one that cops the worse end of things but I mean you don't need to spend ££££ when the rest of the year just saying it is acceptable.

Nicely put Abi. Yeah valentines day is special, but so should every other. To me valentines day is more for kids trying to say too the boy / girl they like at school, otherwise every other day is good to do that anyway. If you're lucky enough to be with someone, then you can show your love, appreciation, happiness, joy and passion with them any time of the year.

No I totally agree about you should show your love every day not just one but, I still love valentines I think its cute maybe a bit commercial but still cute.

To be honest I hate that people spend way over the odds for each other anytime of the year. Id rather someone put way more effort into there gift ideas or even just made something that is cute and quirky. I appreciate gifts more when it comes from the heart and has a little bit of effort in. Not just going to a shopping centre and spending £100's.

I'd agree with you on receiving gifts that are personalised and given from the heart is alot better than anything that can easily be bought out of a shop pretty much by anyone, yeah on valentines day it can be quite cute with sweet little gifts and the way that they are given, so yeah valentines day is too the bible a special day for doing that, but due too commercialism these days, I see it that any other time of the year can be just as special. I had noticed that some people expect something on valentines day and so can make things perhaps less special at times, but either way, showing your love for another, passion, commitment is a great thing to do.

Valentine's Day can be sweet, if done right. But honestly, couples dont need to apologize for being in a relationship when a single friend isn't... that just rubs it in even more, not to mention, if they're a good friend, they'll be happy for you.

my partner and i dont celebrate vday, since our anniversary is the day after. Our tradition is to go on a chocolate raid on the 15th!
