child, i know i'm getting older by the min.the other day i was listing to music and one of my fav songs came on and i got my big, old ass up and started to dance. i couldn't make it through the whole song without having to stop to brenthe. my ex was over and he had the nerve to laugh at me. it was either my dancing or me having to stop mid song. i'm 42, which may not be very old to some and i can't drop it like it hot any more, hell i can bearly lay it down lke it luke warm. my question to the group is how many other here have felt their age or do some of the old heads here are lying to themselves and think they are still 20. i know some may say age is just a number and that you are as old as you feel, but mothernature says something different.

Bottom line for me has always been:
"Your only as old as the person you feel!"
My Love is 3 three year younger than I, but that's another story.
Been numerous the past few months!!

sorry gene i am only 21 & a number of months?
seeing the ages of some of them alone makes me feel young?
And keith stay away from hang-gliding or parachuting, if you fell from up there, the ground would be a lot harder.
Otherwise go and ravish, and chase younger guys, and stop talking about age,
you would make anyone feel old, ready for shuffling a zimmer in front of you?

i know that aging is hard. I can't move furniture alone anymore. I do too much and I'm out of. breath. One of the other issues that I don't like to talk about and other gay men avoid is Erectile Dysfunction. Many guys are in denial about growing older.

wot, no sense of humour, and gene i am not trying to insult you, by saying lose some weight, then you wont be out of breath, and take up dancing again, go to disco/clubs again, and enjoy life.

@Gene One day about 6 or 7 years ago I was walking from the subway to my job, a 15 minute walk, and I couldn't make it, although I used to walk for 30 to 60 minutes. I went to the doctor, sent me to a cardiologist, said I needed angioplasty (to open my clogged artery). Had the procedure done. I was told that I caught it in time, there was no damage to my heart. I keep my weight down, eat lots of vegetables and fruits and some brown rice. I can easily walk briskly for 30 to 45 minutes now and I'm 72.

Also many years ago I was told by 2 doctors to do stretching exercises for my legs. When I don't do it regularly, the muscles tighten up and I run out of breath much sooner when walking or dancing.

I would suggest you have a check up with a doctor as soon as you can.

dennis dont be crass, gene is probaly needing some exercise, as richard has said it could be the tightening of the arteries, gene should get a check up.
If you had one, mabey the stroke, & heart attack may have been avoided.
dancing ,walking, and going out and enjoying oneself is good, gets rid of depression & anxiety, we dont want to go before our time.

it's none of those things, it's me thinking i could get up and act that i was 20. moving and dancing when the body making sounds you never heard before. bones cracking and popping and able to tell the weather the way granma and granda did by the aching in the bones., having to stop mid dance to get the breathing started when back in the day you could dance all stoping long enough to get a drink, never sitting down and making fun of the old timers sitting., now i'm one of them the ones i said i was never going to be and loving every min. of it. being able to understand and know myself a lot better than that kid i use to be. able to go through a different set of growing able to know how to deal with things a lot better than before. i bring up light things and y'll go too deep and read more than what's on the page. i will say i should be a little more clear and i will

allan, y not. i love getting old. for me it means i'm done with making childish mistakes i've learn from my past. i comfortable enough in my own skin to tell people what i like and don't like and care less who feelings i hurt because i refuse to carry someone's burden. the only thing i'm not liking is the gray in my eyebrow. if it comes down to it i'll shave them off and tell people they fell out

@ Gene One idea is to get an eye lash brush and touch your up you eye boroughs. That way you won't have to trim them.

I am not sure how old Allen is but i don't think he got the gist of your complaint. i swore I would never be old fat and out of shape. Then life hit me square inn the ass. the problem I am having is I think i can still move like I was 20ish. This has caused a couple of injuries in the last couple of years. I tore out my shoulders doing Judo flips in martial arts classes at age 42. I jump up to do something that never was a challenge before and now I am stopping to think about it. In some things it has made me more team oriented and efficient because i realize I can't do it all like I used to. now that life has granted me adult children who are out on their own. i can really start trying to get rid of the extra weight and try to be healthier in my old age. so Gene, i know what you are talking about my brother. Sometimes my body just says slow down you old fart. That and being a grandfather helps a little. lol
